History

Macaroni and cheese also called mac ‘n’ cheese in the US, macaroni cheese in the United Kingdom. It is a dish of cooked macaroni pasta and a cheese sauce, most commonly cheddar. It can also incorporate other ingredients, such as breadcrumbs, meat and vegetables. Traditional macaroni and cheese is a casserole baked in the oven; however, it may be prepared in a sauce pan on top of the stove or using a packaged mix Ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Macaroni Pasta – 250 Grams
  • Water – 2 Litters

  • Salt
  • Un salted Butter – 70 Grams
  • Whole purpose flower(maida) – 1 Tablespoon

  • Kashmiri Chilli (cayenne pepper)  – 1 pinch

  • Fresh Cream or Milk – 500 milliliters

  • Cheddar Cheese – 100 Grams

  • Ground Beef – 450 Grams

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Crushed Chillies – 2 Pinches

  • Green Onion Chopped – 2 Stalks

Recipe

Prepare pasta sauce by adding cheddar cheese slices to the roux on a very slow heat, do not bring to boil. Boil and strain the macaroni pasta, follow the cooking time for various brands. Prepare the ground beef with the seasoning, green onion and chillies. Add to the strained pasta and mix well, add cheese sauce. Baking is optional for 15 minutes @ 200 Degree Celsius and broil for 2-3 minutes.
