History

Chilli chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese dish, usually battered boneless chicken pieces deep-fried and further cooked in a Hakka kind of sauce.
Chilli chicken does not have to be complicated. Our restaurant style chilli chicken is made in three simple and easy steps without any mess. The recipe is super simple to follow and even kids can make it. 

Ingredients

  • -Vegetable Oil – 500 mls
  • Boneless Chicken pieces – 250 Grams

  • Soy Sauce – 1 Tablespoon

  • Whole Purpose flower – 1 Tablespoon

  • Corn starch – 1 Tablespoon

  • Egg – 1

  • Chopped Ginger – 1 teaspoon

  • Chopped Garlic – 1 teaspoon

  • Onion – Large Dices – 1 Cup

  • Soy Sauce – 1 Tablespoon

  • Chilli paste or Thick Chilli Sauce – 2 Tablespoons

  • Tomato Ketchup – 1 Tablespoon

  • Sugar – 1 Teaspoon

  • A Maggie cube mixed in 50 mls of warm water  (chicken stock may be used as an alternative)

  • Corn Starch – 1 Teaspoon

  • Water – 300 mls

  • Fresh lime juice – half a lime squeezed
