Creamy Mushroom Chicken is Pan fried chicken breasts cooked in a rich creamy and flavorful mushroom garlic sauce. It is a variation of the famous Italian Marsala Chicken. If you wish to cook the authentic Italian Marsala chicken, add half cup of Marsala wine along with the chicken stock while cooking.


  • Chicken Breast – 4 
  • 1.5 cups of whole purpose flour (maida) 
  • Salt and pepper
  • A pinch of red chilli (cayenne pepper) for color
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • 100 grams of unsalted butter
  • 50 grams of unsalted butter
  • 200 grams of mushroom slices
  • A cup of small onion dices
  • Salt and pepper
  • A tablespoon of Garlic paste
  • A tablespoon of maida (whole purpose flour)
  • 600 milliliters of chicken stock (can be substituted with 2 Maggie cubes mixed with water)
  • A teaspoon of sugar
  • 400 milliliters of milk or fresh cream


Heat oil and butter together in a heavy skillet, pan-fry chicken breasts. Add more butter and mushroom slices and cook until soft, add onion dices and garlic and cook until the onion is caramelized. Add pepper and salt, whole purpose flower and stir for a minute. Add chicken stock and reduce the mushroom sauce to a semi solid consistency.  Add fresh cream or milk and the fried chicken pieces. Garnish and enjoy while hot.
